Sacred Land of Wishes & Dream poetry reading
Sunday May 30, 2021
Sunday May 30, 2021
This poetry book came into being from dreams and meditations. Below is an excerpt from the introduction and a reading of Sacred Land of Wishes and Dreams. Each stanza stands on its own and the last stanza in the book brings the entire poetry collection together.
FOLLOW: Akashic Dreaming Through Time captures the essence of life and its difficulties in continuing to pursue our beliefs even though they might no longer serve us throughout our lives.
Every stanza emulates the traveling soul. The individuals’ experiences from anger to forgiveness and acceptance which guides us home.
Sacred Land of Wishes & Dreams
Grinding of mortar and pestle matches the passing steam engine train’s sound. Healing herbs swish in frantic anticipation of healing the starburst wounds of paleface rifles. The humble love of Earth while land condenses under other’s domination. Sorrow for sacred land of wishes and dreams. Mix Trail of Tear's elixir into the unknown earth. I followed.

In this episode, we discuss the three-part poetry film Journey of Becoming. A reading of the poem Your Autonomy, (part I) of ‘The Journey of Becoming’, which is a series of philosophical poetry films about self-realization. The purpose behind this film is to describe the struggles we face when we step away from the trodden path to follow our own unique path.
Maryam Ghouth is of Persian, Saudi, Scottish heritage and leads a quiet life in Dubai where she spends most of her time reading, writing, recording, and creating poetry films.
She composes and narrates stories about different facets of the human experience in collaboration with musicians, artists, and filmmakers to create immersive audio tracks, poetry films, and experiential art.
The topics she covers range from existential crises to love and the fear of loss. She combines the tenets of psychology with the big questions of philosophy, challenges social narratives, ponders existential unknowns, and gives voice to the raw emotions undulating the human condition.''
